Tips on getting an A+:
- Follow strictly the format
- When I say discuss, discuss! Assume that the reader has no background in sociology or any the concepts you wrote in your paper. Assume that your essay will be read by a grade 6 student.
- Keep your paper simple. You should be able to relay your thoughts such that your readers can comprehend it well. Avoid using words that are too deep, especially if you don’t know how to use it.
- Avoid using personal expressions (like hehehe). This essay is a formal paper so try to present your ideas as formal BUT as interesting as possible!
- You paper is NOT about how well the special effects of the movie is displayed. You are after the concepts and how the movie showed these concepts. So try to focus on the essence/plot/idea of the movie and not on the skills of the actor/director/scriptwriter etc.
- Go beyond the minimum pages. If you still have a lot of things to say, SAY it! Write it until nothing comes out of you! You can go longer if you want, but avoid losing your focus!
- Don’t try to do this in one sitting. Get inspired by browsing over the internet for some ideas, but write in your own words. You may even consult each other for ideas and criticism
- This is only 1 paper but written by 3 members. Thus your essay should flow smoothly in terms of style and wording as if only 1 person wrote it.
